From tree to product

The Institute of Forest Utilization and Work Science was created in 1958 and existed until the end of 2012. Research and teaching focus of the institute was to improve utilization of forest wood products along the Forest-Wood-Chain. This covers all aspects beginning with harvesting activities and forest engineering up to development of new sustainable biomaterials.

In the course of a structural reform of the faculty the different chairs emerged from the Institute of Forest Utilization and Work Science on January 1st 2013. Reserch and teaching activities of the former institute are continued and extended by the chairs:
